July 2006-June 2007: Disaster Response Assistance
For the year 2006, the Foundation joined thousands of others in helping the people of Bicol particularly those in Guinubatan, Albay and Camarines Sur and Marinduque who were left homeless and hungry over the Christmas season by the ravages of three successive killer typhoons which resulted in lahar and flash-flood rendering thousands of families’ homeless.
Once again, the Anscor Group and the Foundation joined hands in reaching out to the typhoon victims. Anscor released P1.0 million in relief funds to the Foundation for relief distribution in the three most affected provinces. The Foundation on the other hand, touch-based with local NGOs: ASCODE in Albay, CBD in Camarines Sur and Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR) in Marinduque to help ensure that the relief assistance is delivered to the victims on time. Over 2,500 families were provided with basic foods and commodities during the relief operation.
